Gross motor

to describe the development of the movement of a newborn is divided into gross motor and fine motor. The gross motor area has to do with changes in body position and the ability to maintain balance.
Is defined as gross motor skill which the child becomes, to move smoothly the muscles of your body and maintain balance, and gain agility, strength and speed in their movements. The pace of change varies from one subject to another (but always between parameters), according to the maturity of the nervous system, their genes, their basic temperament and environmental stimulation. This development will cephalo-caudal direction is first neck, the trunk continues, continues with the hip and ends with the legs.

Is considered within the natural parameters:
The head control at 2 months.
Seating at 6 months.
Crawling at 9 months, if not always crawl before walking.
Standing at 10 months.
Walking at 12 months.

 
We should be alarmed when:
No head control at 4 months
No sitting at 9 months
No up to 18 months
